The Theo Thinker Club is the home of the Theo Thinker books: 12-week brain training programs, word searches, brain teasers and collections of surprising facts, all in large print. Here you will find free sample puzzles, the extra booster sessions that go with each book, and new puzzles by email for members of the club.
Everything is made to be printed. You solve with a pen at the kitchen table, on the porch or on a long trip – no computer needed while you play.
It began at a family get-together. Our parents are in their seventies and eighties, and we were talking about how to keep them fresh, active and curious – and about what really works: puzzles, brain teasers, crosswords. Most puzzle books we found let them down: tiny print, careless facts, nothing that builds from one day to the next.
So Gabriel J. Jarroldt and a few friends – writers, doctors, a medical student who may one day become a neurosurgeon – started making puzzles for them instead: clear layouts, large print, worth their time. Our parents loved them, especially the logic games, and kept asking for more. Soon friends wanted copies for their parents too.
In the end it grew into a project we are proud of: Theo Thinker, one name for the small team behind every book. We publish puzzle books of every kind, and carefully researched brain training books that help keep the mind active, fresh and sharp – made with the care you would give your own family.
Theo Thinker is the pen name of Gabriel J. Jarroldt and the small team he makes these books with: writers, doctors, and a medical student who may one day become a neurosurgeon. We are puzzle fans, some of us are parents, and we are also the sons and daughters of parents who are in their seventies and eighties.
Our books are made for brain training, quiet evenings, long trips and the spare minutes in between, for anyone who likes to keep the mind fresh, sharp and busy and learn something new along the way. Clear layouts, large print where it helps, and carefully checked facts come as standard.
We write the puzzle and brain training books of The Boylston Press: 12-week brain training programs, word searches, brain teasers, murder mystery logic puzzles set in the fog-bound cliff town of Murderi, and collections of surprising facts.

Every puzzle we make trains one of six skills: long-term memory, short-term memory, speed, logic, attention to detail and multitasking. A good week has a little of each – that is how our 12-week programs are built.
Our puzzles are for enjoyment and mental exercise. They are not medical advice.
